For eligible electronic documents, a Virginia-commissioned electronic notary meets the signer by live audio-video communication and completes the notarial act under Virginia law.
Title companies, lenders, attorneys, real estate professionals and businesses can request single appointments, overflow coverage or coordinated multi-location service.
RON may allow an eligible signer to complete a notarization without traveling to a physical office, after identity verification and document review.
Important: Not every document or transaction qualifies for RON. Acceptance can depend on the document, destination, receiving agency, title company, lender or other relying party. Eligibility and availability must be confirmed before the session.

Virginia law treats a compliant electronic notarial act as performed in Virginia. The document and receiving party must still accept the electronic notarization, so eligibility is confirmed before scheduling.
The signer generally needs an eligible electronic document, acceptable identification, a device with reliable internet, camera and microphone, and the ability to complete the platform’s identity-verification requirements.
